Roster, B Co., 1st Battalion 6th Infantry, US Army, Fort Hood, TX, and Vietnam, 1967-68
 
[The following soldiers served in B Co., 1st Battalion 6th Infantry, during 1967 and 1968.  This list  has been created based upon the following documents:  M-16 qualification orders (Special Orders Number 55, dated 18 Sep 67, HQ 198th Inf Bde (LT), Ft. Hood, TX) provided by Tom Besselman (B/1-6 1967-68);  CIB Orders (Special Orders Number 204, dated 31 Dec 67, HQ Americal Div) also provided by Tom; Orders for the Purple Heart (General Orders Number 1309, HQ Americal Div) provided by Joe DeFrank, CIB Orders (Special Orders Number 97, dated 6 Apr 68, HQ Americal Div) provided by David McBeth.  Additional names have been added based on a Memorial Ceremony brochure 198th Infantry Brigade, 21 Sep 68 provided by Alan Allen (A/1-6 67-68)

In the absence of an official roster from the time, the lists of soldiers on this web site have been compiled from various types of orders (weapons qualifications, promotion, awards and decorations, etc).  If you have any such orders concerning soldiers in the 1st Bn 6th Inf for any of the time the unit was in Vietnam, please contact wr9r@aol.com.
